Day two of this trial began with prosecutors asking Lindsay Clancy's ex-husband to describe the moment he returned home on January 24, 2023. I just saw blood everywhere. It looked like it was sprayed almost with like a hose.

Patrick Clancy says he found his wife, Lindsay, in the backyard after jumping from their bedroom window. She said, I tried to kill myself. I said, where are the kids?

And what was her response? She said, they're in the basement.

Patrick was excused from court before his chilling 911 call was played for jurors. Lindsay Clancy seen sobbing as she heard that call for the first time. In it, Patrick is heard shrieking and wailing for several minutes as he discovers his three children in the basement with these exercise bands wrapped around their necks. The operator asks, what happened? Patrick responds, "Oh my God. I need help in the basement. She killed the kids." Helen's pajamas.

When prosecutors held up the clothing the children wore the night they died, Lindsay looked away. Days after the children died, Patrick says he spoke to Lindsay on the phone. She said she heard a man's voice telling her that if she didn't do it now, she would lose her chance.

Defense attorney Kevin Reddington cross-examined Patrick Clancy, who testified that her mental health deteriorated in the months leading up to the tragedy, adding that he left Lindsay alone with the kids several times in the weeks before the killings.

If she wanted to kill the kids, she certainly could have done it that time when you were out, right? In theory. And following that 911 call, paramedics were called to this court behind me to check on a juror who was experiencing severe anxiety. Those jurors today also saw some notes that Lindsay Clancy had taken, detailing her reaction to some of the medications that she was on. This trial resumes tomorrow.
