Helene is third tropical system in a year to hit Florida's northeastern Gulf Coast

Hurricane Helene, now a tropical storm, marks the third time in just over a year that a tropical system has hit Florida's northeastern Gulf Coast. The storm, which made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane, has been blamed for at least three deaths so far as it moves over Georgia.
