Cargo ship hits Baltimore bridge, bringing it down; search and rescue underway

The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed early Tuesday after a column was hit by a large container ship, sending people and vehicles into the Patapsco River, authorities said. The Maryland governor has declared a state of emergency as rescue teams continue to look for people in the water.
