Why are romance scams increasing?
We are seeing an increase in online romance scams. One reason is the aging baby boomer population, which is being targeted and didn't grow up learning to be skeptical of people that they meet online. The other possible explanation investigators say is an emergence of artificial intelligence — scammers are using fake pictures, fake audio and even fake videos.
