Spirit Airlines shuts down, stranding travelers

Spirit Airlines announced Saturday that it is shutting down, becoming the first major U.S. carrier to go out of business in 25 years. The abrupt closure left travelers stranded at airports, including DFW, where overnight video showed grounded aircraft. CBS’s Ellie Bowman reports the airline was unable to secure a $500 million bailout from the Trump administration.
