Rockwall city leaders approve short-term rentals ordinance

Rockwall city leaders approved an ordinance that requires short-term rental properties to register with the city every three years. Property owners would also pay a $500 fee. There are also new rules aimed at increasing safety. Residents spoke about their safety concerns at the city council meeting Monday night. The city council will hold another meeting on April 1 where it is expected that the ordinance will officially be adopted.
