Nearly 96,000 Texas students have been preliminarily approved to receive taxpayer‑funded Education Freedom Accounts for the coming school year. Families must enroll in private school, confirm homeschooling, or opt out by July 15. Early numbers show about 42,000 students in the disability tier and more than 53,000 from households earning up to 200% of the federal poverty level.
