Federal judge orders Texas to install air conditioning in all state prisons by 2029
A federal judge ruled Texas must install air conditioning in every state prison by the end of 2029, finding that the lack of cooling violates the Eighth Amendment. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice says it plans to appeal the decision.
