77-year-old Cecil Lowrie was killed as an EF-4 tornado swept over Garland. He and his wife of 52 years were celebrating the anniversary of their first date.
Several dozen homes near Bobtown Road and High Drive were either heavily damaged or leveled and reduced to just piles of wood and brick.
Investigators determined that all of the victims were in vehicles at the time the tornado struck.
The violent tornadoes that roared through the Garland area over the weekend has impacted mail service in the delivery areas of Garland, Rockwall and Rowlett.
