HALTON CITY (CBSDFW.COM) - A police affidavit has shed even more light on the events that lead to the arrest of a Haltom City woman accused of her grandson's death.

Haltom City Police arrested 43-year-old Patricia Flores in Frio County, about 60 miles south of San Antonio. She's accused of injuring her 2-year-old grandson, Lyfe Flores, causing his death. An affidavit claims that Flores called police six days after she noticed the child had suffered burns. She said she had run some hot water in a bathtub to do some mopping. She thought Lyfe Flores was asleep in another room. When she came back, she says she noticed her grandson lying on the floor with burns to his arms, legs and buttocks.

Patricia Flores said she thought she could treat the boy herself, since she's a certified nurses assistant and did not notify anyone. But six days later the child was unresponsive, so she called 911. Lyfe Flores died at the hospital.

Patricia Flores faces a charge of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury, with a $75,000 bond.
