Wild Temperature Swings Continue

We had a record-tying low temperature early Monday morning at DFW: 39°.  That was enough for frost across a good chunk of the area.  These temperatures are 20-25 degrees below normal for early October.

Some temperatures hit on the freezing mark earlier today.  The average date for the first freeze in the DFW area is November 22...so this was quite unusual cold this early in the fall.

As we enter a new work week, we will start seeing warmer temperatures, more humidity and eventually a chance of rain and thunderstorms over the weekend.  There's an upper level low over Northern California that we're going to watch bring us a chance of rain and storms over the weekend.

That low looks to move pretty far to our north, which means the best chance of storms will be in the middle of the country...but we'll have at least scattered storms Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Some of those storms could be pretty strong too...stay tuned!  Here's the five day forecast.  Seven day forecast at 4, 5, and 6p on CBS11.
