Weekend of Heat Not Storms
We are under a HEAT ADVISORY for the Metroplex this weekend. The heat index is going to approach 110 F during the peak of the afternoon heat.
The advice is to hydrate with water often, avoid direct sunlight as much as possible and wear loose-fitting, light color clothing. Your exposed skin will absorb more heat than a white shirt; even wearing a long sleeve shirt in the sun makes more sense that a short-sleeved one.
The storm chances for today and tomorrow are at 5% of less. The dry weather continues all the way through the extended forecast, nothing that unusual for late July but not the trend of late.
The record high for today is 105F, the forecast is for a high of 103F
The record high for Sunday is 109F, the forecast is for a high of 105F.
We'll spend all of the next week getting very close to tying or breaking the record high for the date. Yes, the very hot and very dry weather that was the theme of ALL of last summer (remember last year it got 100F or higher 30 out of the 31 days of July) has returned here in the second half.
