Weather Still Complicating Travel In, Out Of & Across North Texas

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) trains and buses still aren't running a normal schedule. Officials with DART say they've restored rail service to all stations, but both the trains and buses are running on a modified weather schedule.
Buses outside of the LBJ loop are replacing DART rail through end of service Thursday night, but they are impacted by road conditions and may experience delays. Officials with DART say they are "evaluating" service plans for Friday morning.

Things with the transit agency are much better than they were Wednesday night though. DART had to completely suspend service outside of the 635 loop and ice on overhead power lines caused sparks to fly from trains. Some stations lost power entirely, stranding some passengers.
Things are also running better at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Airlines there cancelled more than 600 arriving and departing flights Thursday. Most of the cancellations happened before crews had a chance to clear runways and start to de-ice planes.
Since the Irregular Operations Plan is in effect until midnight, the airport is accommodating passengers by keeping restaurants and shops open until the last flights arrived and departed.
