Ways To Save Money On Your Dream Wedding

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Jennifer Lopez. Kim Kardashian. Kate Middleton. Everything that celebrities do is extravagant, and weddings are no exception. Summer is the most popular time for weddings across North Texas. Do you dream about having an elaborate celebrity wedding, but don't have a million dollar budget? A local bridal boutique is helping couples get the fancy look without the high cost.

Bride-to-be Addie Vanderburg and her fiance will say their vows on October 6, but finding the money for their dream wedding has been an absolute nightmare. "You don't really realize how many small details there are to plan," she said. "And they just add up and add up."

Vanderburg turned to Rosa Clara in Dallas for help. The bridal boutique is hosting do-it-yourself workshops to help couples recreate celebrity looks for less. For example, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and wife Candice Crawford gave away boxes of cookies rolled up in a bag. The Romos spent $6.75 per wedding favor. Rosa Clara was able to recreate the treats -- baking and packing them from scratch -- for just $1.17 each.

Rosa Clara also recreated Kate Middleton's $1,500 bouquet for just under $40. Hilary Duff spent $15,000 on her wedding dress, but the Rosa Clara version costs only $2,500. It just goes to show that even a budget-conscious bride can wow her guests without breaking the bank, thanks to a couple DIY tips.

The Rosa Clara workshops are free to attend and address everything from photography to makeup. Click here for more information about the bridal boutique and the DIY workshops.
