FALFURRIAS, Texas (AP) — South Texas authorities say a man on the state's Top 10 Most Wanted list has been returned to Brooks County where he faces trial for killing his wife five years ago by beating her with a 5-pound dumbbell.

Eusebio Deleon was captured Friday in Monterrey, Mexico, by U.S. marshals and Mexican police and brought to Laredo. On Sunday, Falfurrias City Administrator David Flores says he was returned to Brooks County.

The 44-year-old Deleon has been a fugitive from Falfurrias since December 2013 when a few weeks before a court date and out on bail he cut off an ankle monitor and fled. Besides murder, he's accused of numerous other crimes, including criminal negligent homicide, assault and terroristic threats.
