Texas DPS Trooper Suspended After Arrest For Child Sex Assault

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) have confirmed a highway patrol trooper has been arrested on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
The Texas Rangers handled the investigation of Trooper Terry Lockridge. The 33-year-old was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting an underage girl. He was first booked into the Palo Pinto County Jail, but was later transferred to the Parker County Jail.
Lockridge, who is stationed in Mineral Wells, has been suspended. He has been with DPS since September of 2009.
Officials say the case remains under investigation.
