Texas A&M To Face LSU In Cotton Bowl
ARLINGTON (AP) - No. 11 LSU has accepted an invitation to take on Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl.
A crowd of more than 80,000 is expected in the 50th meeting of the two storied programs. The Jan. 7 game will be played at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Tigers (10-2) will face No. 18 Texas A&M (9-3) for the first time since 1995. The rivalry dates back to 1899, and Texas A&M has won the last five. The two last met in a bowl game in the 1944 Orange Bowl, when LSU won 19-14.
LSU's last appearance in the Cotton Bowl came in 2003 following a 37-year absence. It will be LSU's fifth trip to the bowl (2-1-1) and its 42nd overall bowl appearance.
The Aggies are making their 12th trip to the bowl (4-7) and are 13-18 in overall bowl appearances.
