Tasha's To Do List: March 5-8

KRLD -- Record snowfall on Wednesday doesn't mean you HAVE to bunker down all weekend. KRLD's Tasha Stevens has some ideas to get you out of the house.

-- Every time I watch this movie, I see something new. If you dig the kids at Rydell High, be at Thursday night's "Grease" Sing-a-Long at Plaza Theatre in Garland.

-- This looks to be a cool deal. The National Accordion Association Convention is happening Thursday at Southfork Hotel in Plano.

-- Now if you feel like venturing out, take part in the always fun Clueless Quote-Along at Alamo Drafthouse on Thursday in Richardson.

-- Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth is the site of the 52nd Fort Worth Show of Antiques and Art. The show has expanded to three days of antiques and art, music, fashion, jewelry, garden and salvage art. Check it out Thursday through Saturday!

Thursday through Saturday, you lovers of guitar need to attend the Texas Guitar Competition and Festival at The University of Texas at Dallas. Over the three-day event, students can compete and attend master classes and concerts by internationally recognized guitarists.

-- If you dig watches and clocks, you'll want to be at Friday and Saturday's Regional Watch and Clock Show at the Mesquite Convention Center. The show will feature a special exhibit of Viennese Clocks, as well as watch and clock lectures.

-- Dallas Blooms, the largest floral festival in the Southwest, has been a tradition for 30 years, and this year's theme plays homage to the state of Texas. "Dallas Blooms: Deep in the Hearts of Texans" continues through April 12 at the Dallas Arboretum.

-- The 33rd Annual North Texas Irish Festival is happening at Fair Park Friday through Sunday. It is going to be a weekend full of music, food, and fun that reflect the culture of the Irish. Whether you are Irish or not, you will enjoy all there is to see, hear, shop and taste.

-- You've seen this dude all over the place. He has done stand up on Dennis Miller Live, The Late Late Show, The Rosie O'Donnell Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and Live with Regis and Kathie Lee. He has also done TV and movies and was listed at #89 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians. See Kevin James at the Verizon Theatre Saturday.

-- Get your fill of some great Texas country music Thursday evening with the Courtyard Texas Music Series of Plano. Thursday night's musical guest: Hal Ketchum.

-- It is all about women's basketball this weekend in Dallas. Thursday through Monday, check out the Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Championships at the AAC.

-- Sample some Texan treats at House of Blues Friday as part of their annual Texas Independence Day event. They'll have "tempting Texas treats" in the Foundation room, including a Herman Marshall whisky tasting, starting at 7:30 p.m.

-- Friday at the Verizon, see one of the most successful and respected singer-songwriters in music. It is Alan Jackson.

-- I don't know about you, but I am so done with this jacked up icy weather -- which is why I plan to refocus on better weather ahead. The 2015 Spring Texas Home and Garden Show is happening this weekend at Dallas Market Hall.

-- Coming up Wednesday (3/11), you can see Gwen Stefani's hubby in concert. See Gavin Rosdale with Bush along with Theory Of A Deadman at Southside Ballroom.

-- If you love chicks who are brutal with their comedy, this woman is the Queen Bee. See the one and only Lisa Lampanelli at the Majestic Saturday night.

-- I cannot tell you the number of guys who had a thing for this chick back in the 80's. She was blonde, hot and rocked harder than most of the dudes at that time. See Doro Pesch at Trees this coming Monday night (3/9).

-- Had it not been for this band, our CYO dances back in high school would have been without any slow dances. Faithfully, Open Arms, Lovin Touchin Squeezin. See Journey at Winstar Friday night.

-- What do you get when you combine The Extreme Midget Wrestling Federation with awesome metal bands? You get the Midgets, Metal and Mayhem event at Trees Thursday night.

-- Let's continue on with our heavy metal theme, shall we? This movie came out when I was in 9th grade. The cool kids snuck in but my mama wouldn't let me anywhere near the theater, so you know I am definitely going to be at this show. If I get a nap beforehand. Check out Heavy Metal at the Granada Thursday night.
