Storm/Rain Chances Sticking Around

We have the risk of severe weather for the rest of the evening as a cold front slowly moves through the Metroplex. The air is rather dry so the storms will be rather isolated but could be severe with strong winds and large hail. The risk is small for the Metro area but greater for Collin/Hunt and Fannin Counties and east.

The front will stall to our south tomorrow morning. We'll likely see some areas of rain around the front and south; most of this will be east and south of the Metro:

The front lifts north later in the day on Monday. Rain chances pick up but only stay around 20%. Most of this will be light rain. Sunday's high of 83° at DFW Airport was the hottest day of the year so far but Monday will be cooler, in the mid-70's with mostly cloud skies:

An upper-level low from the Baja will move over Texas on Tuesday and Wednesday increasing our storms chances. We are in an area of "Marginal" severe storm risk according to the Storm Predication Center:

Rain chances are around 30% Tuesday and 40% on Wednesday. The risk of severe weather is smaller on Wednesday. Highs will stay in the upper 70's:

We are still watching a significant upper-level system moving into the Pacific Northwest. This system will likely push a strong cold front through here on Friday producing some strong storms. It'll be colder on Saturday with some decent rain chances showing for Easter Sunday:
