Stolen Children's Charity Truck Found
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A Fort Worth children's charity has its delivery truck back thanks to some loyal CBS 11 viewers. The large box truck was stolen from the Community Storehouse in north Fort Worth over the weekend.
The theft had a huge impact on the group's ability to serve children in need. The charity helps children who have lost a parent, facing a health crisis or a loss of income in the household.
CBS 11 viewer Dan Mackey and his family found the stolen truck abandoned in a subdivision that is still under construction.
Charity workers say it's a miracle they got their truck back.
"It's like a thousand pounds off my shoulders…a thousand pounds off my shoulders. Tomorrow, we can continue business as usual," said executive director Barbara Board. "Today was awful because we had so many things we needed to do."
Board had received reports of the stolen truck in Arlington and Granbury earlier in the week.
