State Ready for Alex (Track The Storm Here)
Trucks, troops, busses and choppers are all standing by ready to help out after Alex makes landfall south of the border. Even if a direct hit misses South Texas there could still be plenty of flooding and there are over 500 first responders and over 100 boats ready to respond. If power is out for a while there is a plan for that too. "I think we may see people that want to get to where power is because of medical needs. That's why we have the ambulances there, that's why we have the busses there, that's why we have the shelters on standby both there and in San Antonio." Emergency Management Division Chief Nim Kidd says San Antonio is also the main staging area for lots of equipment and personnel to supplement what's already in the Rio Grande Valley.
