SACHSE (CBSDFW.COM) -- At least a dozen homes were damaged in Sachse after storms moved through north Texas early Monday morning.

The damage is centered around Sachse High School, where as many as 15 homes were damaged, according to Lieutenant Marty Cassidy with Sachse Police.

High winds blew shingles off roofs, blew down fences, and damaged or destroyed a number of sheds.

"We have had some significant wind damage, mainly straight-line winds or a downburst," said Cassidy.

There are no reports of injuries.

City Manager Billy George says the damage was limited to a four-block area. The worst damage occurred with homes on Mapleshade Avenue and along Hunters Ridge Drive.

High winds left thousands across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex without power.

Wind gusts were reported to be close to 60 mph in some areas of Addison, even gusting up to 80 mph near Sanger, Krum and Ponder.
