ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Thousands of people will be heading to Arlington on Monday night for two big events at Globe Life Park and AT&T Stadium. The Texas Rangers are back in town for a game against the Chicago White Sox, and singer Beyonce will be performing live in concert.

The baseball game starts at around 7:00 p.m. with Beyonce taking the stage only about 30 minutes later.

However, severe weather could put a damper on these plans. Monday morning already started with rain showers across parts of the Metroplex, and there is a chance that more rain could arrive before Monday evening is over. Even if storms have moved on before the 7:00 p.m. hour, wet roads could plague drivers heading out to the Arlington hot spots.

Arlington marketing and communications manager Jay Warren explained, "We would certainly advise folks as they're getting ready to leave tonight -- either to go to the concert or to go to the game -- that they're looking at the forecast, they're aware of where weather could hit and making plans for that, in case we do end up with severe weather here in Arlington."

City officials ask that fans -- of both the Rangers and Beyonce -- allow for plenty of extra time to get to their respective venues, and be extra cautious on surrounding roads. Between wet surfaces, crowds for two events and standard evening commuters, it could be a messy night in Arlington on Monday.

Other drivers might want to stay away from the area, if at all possible.

Check the traffic map for the latest updates on roadway conditions.
