Rain Clears For Mother's Day
The storms of last night morphed to light rain this morning and afternoon as the surface low moves further to the east from us. Clouds stayed with us all day but only .11" of rain fell this morning. This strong low heading into Mississippi means a wet Mother's Day for the deep south but for us in North Texas pleasant, cool weather. Tomorrow will be another day with a north wind. Recent rains and proximity to this low will mean partly to mostly cloudy skies for us.
The next system that will bring as some rain chances is north of the four corner area. It is still a couple of days away but will produce severe weather tomorrow in New Mexico and the western edge of Texas.
Currently the forecast track favors a southern route, bringing better storm and rain chances to the Hill country rather than north Texas.
We'll go with a 20% rain chance starting Monday night (yes, there is a small chance of rain for the Rangers game Monday night) and a 20% rain chance for Tuesday. Temperatures will remain slightly on the cool side with highs in the upper 70's Monday and around 80° on Tuesday.
A ridge of high pressure moves over us starting Wednesday as winds finally turn back to the south. That means above normal temperatures for the end of the week along with dry weather; highs will be in the upper 80's starting Thursday and lasting into the next weekend.
