Power Mostly Restored After DFW Ice Storm
DALLAS (AP) - Electricity has been restored to most North Texas homes and businesses as recovery continues from last week's ice storm.
Utility Oncor on Tuesday reported power restoration is essentially complete in the Dallas area. Crews continue working in the Paris area, about 100 miles northeast of Dallas, where scattered outages continue.
More than a quarter of a million Oncor customers lost power Friday at the height of the storm that dropped temperatures and also delayed air travel.
Fort Worth-based American Airlines and American Eagle on Tuesday canceled 260 flights systemwide. Most cancellations are in the Dallas area and northeast parts of the U.S. now facing wintry conditions.
A spokeswoman says Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, which overall had about 90 flights canceled Tuesday, has returned to normal operations.
