Police Search For Missing 5-Year-Old Boy
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth police are asking for the public's help in finding a missing 5-year-old boy, originally from Somalia.
Little Sida Osman was last seen playing at the Webber Garden Apartments, near Virgil Street in southeast Fort Worth around six o'clock Tuesday evening.
Early Wednesday morning Fort Worth had their helicopter up helping search for Sida. By late morning police dogs and officers on horseback were also in the area looking for the missing boy.
Sida took of running after his mother called for him, and hasn't been seen since. Police said they weren't called about the missing child until almost 10:30 p.m.
Because of language difficulties, police said it's been hard to get details, but the boy is believed to be wearing a short-sleeve blue shirt with white stripes down both sleeves, baby blue shorts and boots.
Officers combed through adjacent apartment complexes but so far no sign of the child - who does not speak English.
Since police do not believe foul play was involved, the child's disappearance does not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Fort Worth Police Department at 817-335-4222.
