Police Arrest Church Graffiti Vandalism Suspect
ARLINGTON (CBS 11 NEWS) - Police say they have arrested the man responsible for spray painting graffiti across several Arlington churches.
Officers picked up Marcellino Tello, 37, for trespassing outside a business in the 2200 block of Miller Road on Monday night.
Police say Tello matches the description of the man caught on surveillance video at one of the vandalized churches.
He's being held in jail on four charges of Graffiti/Place of Worship and one charge of Criminal Trespass. His mugshot is not being released at this time, while the investigation continues.
Arlington Police say they have not yet determined how many churches and businesses may have been vandalized by Tello.
Two churches were hit over the weekend -- Lutheran Church on 700 E. Lamar Blvd. and Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on 2100 N. Davis Blvd. Graffiti was spray painted along bring walls, sidewalks and church signs.
It is a state felony to vandalize a place of worship.
