Pipelines In Two Deadly Blasts Were Not Marked As Required by Law
Turns out required markings were missing on the natural gas pipeline that exploded and burned near Cleburne last month. A heavy equipment operator was killed and several others were seriously burned when an excavation crew ruptured the massive pipeline, causing an explosion and fire that burned for hours. In Washington, the chair of the National Transportation Safety Board told lawmakers that on-site investigators found no sign that the pipeline was marked as required under federal law. The next day there was another deadly pipeline blast in the Panhandle and the NTSB says that line, too, was unmarked.
