AUSTIN (KRLD-AM) - Despite staff defections and running low on cash, former Texas Governor Rick Perry says his presidential campaign will continue, just with a smaller footprint.

He told reporters after a recent event at the Texas Governor's Mansion he still has as much passion for the country as he did four years ago and that he would continue to stay engaged in the process.

He also took the chance to continue his attacks against GOP leader Donald Trump's Mexican border stand on building a wall.

Perry says having dealt with the issue firsthand, it's just not reality to think you can build a wall from Brownsville to El Paso to Tijuana.

Perry was back in Austin to attend the presentation of the Texas Legislative Medals of Honor to American Sniper Chris Kyle's widow and the family of Lt. Colonel Ed Dyess.
