Overnight Lows Dropping Into the Low 70s

Relief has arrived in North Texas which has been afflicted with near-record breaking triple-digit heat over the past few days. But after Sunday's high of 105 and Monday's record-tying 107, an unusually strong summer front moved through Tuesday morning, causing widespread showers across Dallas-Fort Worth before noon. That, along with persistent cloud cover and a brisk north wind, kept Tuesday's highs in the mid-90s with temperatures dropping into the 80s by late afternoon. Overnight, lows are dipping into the low 70s and Wednesday's high may not climb out of the 80s, nearly 20 degrees cooler than Monday. There are no triple-digit highs predicted through at least next Tuesday.
