One Person Killed In The Colony Following Verbal Argument

THE COLONY (CBSDFW.COM) - The Colony police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday night due to an argument between acquaintances.

According to police, officers responded to a 911 call at 6:00 p.m. at Kisor Drive about a verbal argument between people at a house and three people in a red SUV.

Police said all involved were acquaintances.

When officers arrived, the red SUV had fled and no crime was reported.

Police said witnesses called 911 at 7:15 p.m. and reported hearing multiple gun shots.

One witness said a person was shot near the same house where the argument occurred earlier that evening.

Police said when officers arrived at the location, they discovered the red SUV had returned and the occupants continued the argument with the people in the same house.

A physical fight occurred between the soon-to-be shooter and the red SUV occupants according to police.

Police said during the fight, the shooter pulled out a weapon and shot four to five times at the occupants as they ran back to the red SUV.

The front passenger of the red SUV was struck in the back of the head from the shots and was dead on the scene.

Police identified the victim as Damian Rosales.

The shooting suspect fled the scene according to police.

Witnesses gave a description of someone who may have been involved in the shooting and who fled in a green Ford Ranger.

After further investigation, police located a person of interest based on descriptions given by witnesses and past police department information.

The person of interest is being interviewed by detectives police said.

Police said two other occupants of the red SUV were also detained for questioning.

Police are investigating the motive behind the argument and any further relationships between those involved.

No one has been charged yet according to police.
