Oklahoma State Holds On To Beat Dallas Baptist 9-7
STILLWATER, OK (AP) - Jack Fish hit a grand slam homer and Oklahoma State survived a late rally to beat Dallas Baptist 9-7.
The Patriots (3-1) were trailing 8-1 when Boomer Collins hit a three-run homer to narrow the Cowboys' lead to 8-4 in the top of the eighth inning. Austin Elkins added another three-run homer to bring the score to 8-7.
Victor Romero's single in the bottom of the inning proved to the winning run for Oklahoma State (1-3). The Patriots' Landon Anderson flied out to end the game.
Chase Stevens (1-0) won, allowing two hits and one run in seven innings for Oklahoma State. Vince Wheeland allowed two hits in 1 1-3 innings for the save.
Aaron Gilbreath (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing four hits and six runs in 1 2-3 innings.
