Officer, suspect shot after police chase in North Texas, officials say

An officer and a suspect have both been shot after a chase ended in Burleson, officials said.

City of Burleson officials said the call came in just after 7 p.m. near the Sam's Club on the I-35W service road, near 174, or 600 N. Burleson Blvd. The city spokesperson said the officer is not from the Burleson Police Department, although they do not know which agency was involved.

The pursuit involved multiple agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety. Neither the officer's nor the suspect's conditions are known at this time.

Burleson police are on the scene and said there is no known risk to the public. Expect very heavy police activity and please avoid the area.
