No Injuries In Arlington Train Derailment
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Crews in Arlington were busy dealing with a train that derailed Thursday night by the intersection of South Main Street and Calloway Cemetery Road, close to the Fort Worth border.
Nobody was injured during the incident, but Oncor reported that about 550 customers were without power as the derailed car hit a few utility poles. Crews also had to shut down nearby roads.
The train was carrying ethanol, but the Arlington Police Department said that there were no reports of leakage. There are some homes close to the site of the derailment, but officials did not feel the need to evacuate anybody. Crews moved the train car and were working to unload it before re-opening the roadways.
The Trinity Rail Express shares this same rail line, but has been running smoothly all morning long.
