New Closures Along LBJ Express Project
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Road construction crews are expected to make big progress on the LBJ Express Project this week, but those moves could mean serious delays for some drivers. Those traveling in the late evening and early morning hours will be most impacted.
Starting on Monday night, anyone heading westbound on the LBJ Freeway after 8:00 p.m. will not be able to get onto northbound Interstate-35E. Officials are recommending that motorists take Luna Road as a temporary detour. Then, the northbound entrance to the Dallas North Tollway will be closed at 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday. And the westbound frontage road between Welch Road and Midway Road will be fully closed on Thursday.
But, keep in mind, these latest major closures are only for the nighttime hours. In each case, roads are expected to be open and functional by 6:00 a.m. the next morning. Most commuters will not face delays.
All of this comes in addition to the various lane closures which have been regularly taking place along the LBJ Express Project.
