Man Steals Cop Car; Arrested For Meth Possession
WACO (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Pendleton tried to pull over a man on IH-35 Friday during their investigation into a Methamphetamine Distribution Organization operating in the area. The driver, Joshua M. Reyes, didn't stop however and a chase ensued. It ended at a residence in the 3700 block of 3rd street in Pendleton, according to Lt. Donnie Adams, spokesman for the Bell County Sheriff's Department.
Reyes took off on foot and then stole a police car; fleeing the area causing another police pursuit.
He was eventually forced off the road by an unmarked Temple Police Department vehicle and then taken into custody without any further incident.
Reyes was taken to Scott and White hospital for treatment and then booked into the Bell County Jail.
Police obtained a search warrant for his home in Pendleton where they found a large quantity of methamphetamine with a final street value of approximately $42,000 and several firearms.
Reyes is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshals in Waco where he is being held for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
