CORPUS CHRISTI (AP) — A man has been convicted of manslaughter in the punching death of a man in a Corpus Christi strip club parking lot three years ago.

A Nueces County jury found 46-year-old Mark Booker guilty of manslaughter Friday in the death of 45-year-old Jeffry Schexnider. The punishment phase of his trial begins Monday. Booker faces up to 20 years in prison.

Police have said that after a disturbance between Booker and Schexnider started inside the club in November 2013, employees asked them to leave. The conflict continued in the parking lot. Schexnider was punched in the head and fell to the ground. He later died.

Booker was arrested the next day in a home where police said he was found hiding under a pile of clothes.
