WYLIE (CBSDFW.COM) - A man was hit by two vehicles Saturday night while trying to cross North State Highway 78 according to the Wylie Police Department.

According to Wylie police, while trying to cross the street, the man was first hit by a vehicle going eastbound. He was then struck by another vehicle going westbound.

The man was transported to Medical Center Plano where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, it was possible the drivers did not see the man because it was dark and he was not on a crosswalk.

Wylie police still do not know who the man was because he did not have any identification on him.

The accident remains under investigation, and no citations have been issued.

Wylie police believe the man who died is between 35- to 45-years-old, about 250 pounds, and six-feet tall.

If anyone believes this man may be a relative or friend, contact Wylie police at 972.442.8171.
