Man Arrested After Firing Shotgun At Young People Outside His Home

GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM) - A homeowner, upset about young people gathered outside of his house Wednesday night, fired several shotgun blasts in an effort to break up the group. The gunfire struck one man.

Police in Grapevine were called to the home, located in the 3200 block of Creekview Drive, shortly after 8:15 p.m. and arrested 43-year-old Jason Marcum. He now faces charges of deadly conduct.

According to Grapevine Police Department spokeswoman Amanda McNew, when officers arrived at the scene, they found that Marcum had been attemping to "disperse a group of young people" by firing several shots. The crowd consisted of two groups of teens in the street, ranging in age from 16 to 19 years old.

The group included Marcum's child.

A bullet fragment hit a 17-year-old man  in the leg. He was treated and released from Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine.
