The one-man stage play "I'm Always on My Mind" opens tomorrow (7/24) at Theater 166 in Carrollton. The 90-minute play is a comedy about Brock Besson who is all about himself and he doesn't even know it. A portion of all ticket sales (5%) will be donated to Phil Romano's charity, Hunger Busters, which provides the much needed third meal to DISD students.
Sizzle in air-conditioned comfort while enjoying the red hot blues of Kathy Murray and the Kilowatts tomorrow night (7/24) at the Allen Public Library. Not only is the show free, but Jackie Newhouse will be on bass guitar. Jackie was an original member of the Double Trouble band formed by singer/songwriter Stevie Ray Vaughan.
If your furry babies need vaccinations…and money is tight…the Spay Neuter Network is holding a free vaccination event for dogs and cats owned by Fort Worth residents this Saturday (7/25) at Sycamore Park. The event will also feature Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT), Fort Worth Animal Control, the Saving Hope Foundation and others.
The dog days of summer means one thing at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden: August Dollar Days, presented by Time Warner Cable. The garden will offer $1 general garden admission, select $1 and $2 food and drink options and $2 Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden admission to all guests during August. As a part of August Dollar Days, there will also be $1 and $2 food and drink items including hot dogs, juice boxes, root beer floats and more at select restaurants in the garden.
