Hot & Getting Hotter This Week
This is the season when the heat arrives. Just look at all the 100° (and above) days recorded at DFW Airport since 1980. Almost 90% of them have fallen between the Fourth of July weekend and the Labor Day weekend. Across that nine week stretch the week with the MOST 100° days is the one we are in now: the first week of August:
We had a LITTLE bit of a break from the heat this weekend along with lower humidity. But we are back to the typical heat in the work week ahead:
There is a slight chance of rain tomorrow morning in our northwest counties again. It'll just be morning clouds for the Metroplex:
Here's a look at the heat for tomorrow afternoon. That record high for the date of 109° was set back in 2011, the year with the most 100° days ever recorded at DFW in one year, 71. The average is 18.
If your lawn routine requires an inch of water a week you'll have to lean on the municipal supply. There is no significant chance of rain in the forecast in the next twelve days. This is currently the longest dry spell we've had over the last few years and it's getting longer:
