Heroes Climb

In everyday life there are folks who rise above situations that might defeat someone else, we sometimes call those folks heroes.  A North Texas man is looking for everyday heroes to acknowledge them in a very special way.

"If you hear stories of people maybe jumping into a subway to help somebody and risking their own life, the response is always the same, that is just what I had to do" said Vince Poscente, creator of the Heroes Climb.

Vince has been to the Himalayan Mountains four times and got the idea to climb one and name it for a hero.

Most people don't know you can actually name a mountain or that there are even mountain without names.

"There are hundreds of them.  So the deal is we summit a mountain and then we get to name it" Vince added.

Heroes Climb has collected many stories from all over North America and Canada.  You can read their nomination stories and then vote for your favorite.  It's also not too late to submit a hero in your life.

"The deadline is June 12th and if people get their nomination in before then, there's a shot at us selecting your hero" Vince noted.
