UPDATE: Missing Child Found Safe

UPDATE: Shortly after 9:00 p.m. Allen Police say the child was found safe inside a restaurant.

Police say he told someone there he had run away.

ALLEN (CBSDFW.COM)  - The Allen Police Department is currently searching for a missing 11-year-old child.

The child was last seen on his bicycle in the area of Green Elementary School in Allen.

The child is black and was wearing a gray winter jacket with blue jeans and blue tennis shoes.

If anyone sees this child please contact the Allen Police Department dispatch at 214-509-4321 and give the location.

The Texas DPS helicopter is assisting in the search and will be operating in the area for an extended time.

The helicopter is using its night vision technology to aid in locating the missing child.

The Allen Police Department says it will update this information throughout the evening.
