Grapevine Police Look For Wine Theft Suspects

GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Grapevine need help identifying some suspects who allegedly stole baskets of wine directly off of the grocery store shelf. The two crimes took place on June 23 and June 24, both at the Tom Thumb store located in the 4000 block of William D. Tate Avenue.

Police posted details of the incidents and surveillance camera photographs on Facebook.

In the first theft, officers were called about two men who allegedly took $1,000 worth of Duckhorn 2010 Merlot wine. One of the two suspects was described as a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 200 pounds and between 30 and 40 years old. The second wine theft suspect was also described as a white male between 30 and 40 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 180 pounds, with a large tattoo on his right calf.

The suspect in the second wine theft, which happened just one day later at the same location, was described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, about 180 pounds, and between the ages of 40 and 50 years old. According to authorities, the man entered the grocery store and swiped about $600 worth of various wine bottles from the shelf. Surveillance photographs show the merchandise loaded into shopping baskets.

In both cases, the suspects left the scene in a white car, also seen in the surveillance photographs, but the make and model of the vehicles were not known. Police were not able to confirm if the two thefts were related, or if the suspects were in fact the same individuals.
