Freeze Warning Tonight

FREEZE WARNING TONIGHT…

Tarrant, Denton, Collin, Kaufman, Parker, Johnson and counties north and west of these counties are under a freeze warning for tonight.  Dallas County is not included in the Freeze Warning.  Temperatures will drop to between 28 and 32 degrees overnight tonight in the areas under the freeze warning.  The colder spots in Dallas County could see a freeze, but thanks to the "heat island" effect, most of Dallas will stay in the mid 30s overnight.  Here's a look at lows I'm expecting overnight tonight into Friday morning.

WARMER FOR THE WEEKEND…

Temperatures will warm into the 70s this weekend and morning lows will also get warmer.  Winds will really start to increase Saturday into Sunday as a storm system moves thru the Central Plains.  Sunday morning will start with some low clouds and possibly some drizzle and light rain.  There may be pockets of light rain off and on during the day on Sunday.

STORM CHANCES INCREASE NEXT MONDAY AND TUESDAY…

A strong upper level disturbance will move over Texas next Monday and Tuesday.  This will likely result in storms developing along a dry line Monday afternoon.  These storms will move across the area Monday afternoon/evening.  It looks like another round of storms will develop overnight Monday night into Tuesday and also effect the area.  Then even on Tuesday with this slow moving upper level disturbance we could see another round of storms.  There appears to be enough moisture in the lower levels of the atmosphere and enough upward motion in the atmosphere to get storms strong enough to become severe.  So there will be a severe threat on Monday and Tuesday of next week.  The timing still needs to be worked out, but a couple of rounds of storms with the possibility of severe weather will be possible early next week.
