Fort Worth Restaurant Robbery Suspect Caught

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Fort Worth arrested a restaurant robbery suspect Friday morning after he visited two separate locations. The incident first began at about 7:15 a.m. at the Chick-Fil-A restaurant along Carroll Street, in the Montgomery Plaza shopping center.
According to authorities, the man entered the location and presented a note to an employee, demanding cash from the register. The worker tried to comply, but was "locked out of the system" and unable to access the store's money. After a few attempts, the suspect left the scene empty-handed.
Meanwhile, another employee had already activated the store's alarm.
While police were responding to that call, officers were alerted to another robbery at the Baker Bros. restaurant, also in the Montgomery Plaza shopping center. An employee from that location stayed on the phone with dispatchers all while following the suspect from a distance.
The suspect fled on foot, heading westbound along 7th Street. Police caught up with him and took him into custody. He was still carrying the stolen cash and the note that demanded money. However, he had discarded articles of clothing in an attempt to disguise his appearance. Those clothes were also recovered.
The suspect's name has not yet been released.
