Fort Worth police search for suspect in two early‑morning machete attacks
Police in Fort Worth are searching for a man who allegedly attacked two people with a machete in separate early‑morning incidents Friday, authorities said.
Officers responded to a report of a person with a weapon at about 6:15 a.m. at Capps Park, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.
The suspect, described as a dark‑skinned male, possibly Hispanic, left both victims with minor injuries before fleeing the area, police said.
"He may be suffering from a mental health crisis as these attacks appear to be unprovoked," the department said in a news release.
The first victim suffered a small hand laceration and refused hospital treatment. The second victim, injured about 45 minutes earlier, also had a minor hand wound and declined medical care, police said.
CBS News Texas said it will provide updates as more information becomes available.
