First 100 Degree Day of the Year at DFW

FIRST 100 DEGREE DAY OF THE YEAR!

We finally made it.  I don't think it will warrant as much celebration as the Mavs Win, but we got our first 100 degree day of the year today officially at DFW.  As of 330 pm the official high is 100 degrees.  And let's face it, we have many more to look forward to this summer.  I will toot our horn a little as we were the only station to forecast a high of 100 degrees for this Monday last week.

100 DEGREE FACTS…

We average 16, 100 degree days each year.  The most in a year was 1980 when we had 69 one-hundred degree days.  Here is a nice graph illustrating which months average the most 100 degree days.  As you can see August is the month with the most triple digit temperatures.  So we have a long way to go this summer.

MORE HEAT ON THE WAY…

Temperatures will stay in the upper 90s and low 100's over the next few days.  We will likely make it back to 100 tomorrow and then again on Friday.

SMALLEST OF RAIN CHANCES…

When it gets to this point, we are grabbing for rain chances and it looks like we might see a few very isolated showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening north and north east of Dallas.  Those areas up around Paris, Bonham, Sherman might see a stray shower or storm Wednesday afternoon, but the prospects don't look very good.  The rest of us will stay dry with just sunny skies and more heat.
