Final Arguments In Martha Stewart Case

NEW YORK (AP) - Attorneys for JCPenney and Macy's are set to be back in court Thursday after a three-month break to present closing arguments in a contract dispute over a partnership with the Martha Stewart brand.

New York State Supreme Court Judge Jeffrey Oing could decide the case as early as Friday, experts say.

The arguments a closely watched trial that began in February that put the CEOs of both companies and Martha Stewart herself on the stand.

The case centers on whether Macy's Inc. has exclusive rights to sell certain Martha Stewart merchandise, including bath items and kitchenware.

Cincinnati-based Macy's Inc. sued JCPenney and Martha Stewart for violating an exclusive deal between the home maven and Macy's when JCPenney signed its own merchandising pact with Martha Stewart in December 2011.
