MIAMI (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Authorities responded to Miami International Airport after an unclaimed cell phone was found aboard an American Airlines jet.

FBI spokesman Michael D. Leverock told local media outlets Tuesday night that a passenger finally came forward to claim the cell phone.

The Miami-Dade Police Department's bomb squad responded Tuesday after "suspicious activity" was reported on the American Airlines flight arriving from Paris.

Alexis Aran Coello, corporate communications manager for Fort Worth-based American Airlines, says the plane was taken to a secure location and was searched by law enforcement.

Officials say local and federal authorities conducted a search for about two hours after the plane had landed. By 6 p.m., the plane was cleared.

Leverock says no charges have been filed.
